The Talking Books Program - A division of the National Library of Congress - provides free access to books,
magazines, and other publications to the visually impaired, physically impaired and blind utilizing the public
library system in each state.
This is an outstanding service, and all who have difficulty reading should use it! We have application forms
available for Alabama, Florida and Mississippi residents and can provide 800 numbers for other states.

Federal Tax Deduction
To qualify as blind by the IRS you must keep in your tax records a certified letter from an ophthalmologist or
optometrist stating that you have non correctable 20/200 vision in your best eye or that your field of vision is
restricted to 20 degrees or less. These deductions may change annually.
